Please do not ban Avril Lavigne concert performance in Malaysia
Petition To: "Shukran Ibrahim, The Arts, Culture and Heritage Ministry",
Dear Sir
We are the members of Malaysia Avril Lavigne fans club, do hereby state on behalf that we are strongly refuse the cancellation of Avril Lavigne concert on 29 August 2008 at Stadium Merdeka. According to the statement given by PAS Youth official, Kamarulzaman Mohamed, "considered too sexy" is not an acceptable statement. As far as we concern, we could not see Avril is wearing sexy outfit. She is wearing a tee shirt along with cargo pants on her "Best Damn Tour" 2008. Sir, please really do confirm with us, do Sir knows about Avril dress code? She might be sexy, but that appears on the magazines. We do accept if Avril Lavigne is sexy, then we do not have any comments on the banned issue. But, we could not see which part of Avril Lavigne is sexy.
Avril Lavigne concert will be performed near to our National Day. We agree, but PAS representatives mentioned that this concert brings no good spirit on National Day. We understand the concert is close to National Day, but the concert is so much different than National Day celebration. We are going to the concert and we are do celebrate National Day. For us, this concert with National Day celebration are double happiness to us. If Sir cancel or ban the concert, Sir is clashing our hope. This will results in disappointment among teenagers. Therefore, National Day will be meaningless to us. Sir, Avril Lavigne is nothing about bringing bad influence, she is just "independent". We should show her our proud National Day. She will be interested in Malaysia.
Moreover, cancellation of concert shows Malaysia is a conservative country. A lot of people overseas are so admire of this country for being multi racial country. It is because it is hard for different races can be united. This makes us proud as a Malaysian. In addition, it helps our country gain revenue through this entertainment. International singers perform in our country, means we are having income in. Thus, it helps to boost up Malaysian economy.
